The Mzuri Wildlife Foundation sponsored Ugalla Village Game Scout team, one of 24 operated by the Friedkin Conservation Fund and the Tanzanian Wildlife Department game wardens, has continued to operate very effectively. The game scout teams in total have apprehended over 2000 poachers in the past two years. The MWF sponsored team has apprehended over 200 poachers.
Other programs operating in conjunction with the FCF are the beekeeping program, developed to enable financial self sufficiency for Kangeme Village.
Two schools are also supported,
teachers houses and facilities improvement was funded at the
Olovis/Burka Primary School and a power generator funded to
provide electricity to the Longido Boarding School which has an
enrollment of 800 pupils. A keystone of both the village game
scout program and the education programs are the conservation
education provided to villages and schools.
