Supporting Youth Hunter Education

Ensuring the next generation receive proper hunter education is a key area of focus for the Mzuri Wildlife Foundation (MWF).

MWF President Kevin Destruel recently visited Kid’s Outdoor Sports Camp (KOSC) in Red Bluff, CA where he presented a check for $20,000 to KOSC founder Judy Oswald. This will support her work instructing youth in hunter education, the shooting sports and encouraging more youth to get their hunting license. In doing so, MWF helps perpetuate the time honored tradition of hunting and the shooting sports.

While we were there, we had a chance to see the KOSC program in action. The video below shows just how much fun these kids have while they are learning. We hope you enjoy it.

KOSC Mission

KOSC is dedicated to building youngsters outdoor skills enabling them to engage in hunting and fishing opportunities, understand the importance of wildlife conservation management, learn to appreciate natural resources, and preserve our fishing and hunting heritage.

KOSC History

KOSC started in 1998 by Judy Oswald. Judy started the camp when she went to take her grandchildren to partake in a hunter education course and to her surprise she couldn’t find anything that provided the essential training. She wanted more hands on experience and several days of training versus the traditional one or two day courses that were offered at the time.
