Outdoor Sports & Education
We invest in organizations that cultivate and inspire future generations of individuals who will treasure the outdoors and protect these natural resources. Engaging more youth, women and others in outdoor experiences connects them to the natural world and fosters an understating of the importance of wildlife conservation. The programs we support:
- introduce and engage youth in outdoor sports and conservation activities,
- encourage more women to participate in shooting, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor sports,
- offer hands-on learning opportunities that promote environmental stewardship, and
- build an understanding of the value of wildlife resources within individuals and communities.
Involving More Women in Outdoor Sports
Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, a California Waterfowl Association program, encourages more women to enter the world of outdoor sports by introducing participants to a wide variety of outdoor skills.
Engaging Youth in the Out-of-Doors
Kids Outdoor Sports Camp exposes youth to a variety of outdoor activities including archery, fishing and hands-on conservation projects.
Educating Schoolchildren about Environmental Conservation
The outdoor education programs of iThemba Trust teach impoverished youth from rural South Africa to connect with, enjoy and appreciate the natural environment through fun outdoor experiences.
Educating our Educators
California teachers learn how to bring outdoor education into the classroom during four-day Wildlife Conservation Science Education Seminars hosted by California Waterfowl Association.
