We are excited to announce that Mzuri Wildlife Foundation’s 2024 The Big Event will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in beautiful Monterey, California. Join us oceanside at the Intercontinental The Clement on Cannery Row. Enjoy stunning coastal views, fine wine and friends while bidding on exciting hunts, trips, and weekends near and far plus other fun auction packages.
A special private wine evening at the Monterey Zoo will kick off the weekend festivities. Come join the fun! Every dollar raised will support Mzuri Wildlife Foundation and the grants we give to small wildlife conservation and outdoor sports education programs around the world.

Ivan Carter
Founder of the Ivan Carter Wildlife Conservation Alliance and TV Host of the Outdoor Channel’s award-winning show “Carter’s W.A.R.
Born as a Rhodesian and educated as a Zimbabwean, Ivan’s path has never strayed far from Africa’s wildlife. The great diversity of his experiences with social junctures between wildlife and people position him as one of the leading pragmatic conservationists in the world today.

Tom Opre
Adventure Filmmaker and Founder of the Shepherds of Wildlife Society
A film director, cinematographer, television producer, wildlife conservationist, best-selling author, and human rights advocate, Tom Opre has prioritized educating the public on wildlife conservation and human rights issues.
His film Killing the Shepherd (2021) was accepted by over 40 film festivals worldwide and won numerous awards, including those for social justice, indigenous and human rights. The film was screened by politicians in the US Capital, Westminster, various US State legislatures, and the European Union, plus it was featured at the Cop19 CITES conference in Panama City. It was broadcast in the US through Valley PBS in Fresno, CA, and is available to over 300 PBS stations nationwide. It is available on dozens of online video streaming platforms, including Amazon, AppleTV, Tubi, YouTube, etc. Opre’s book, “Killing the Shepherd: Beyond the Film,” achieved best-seller status on Amazon and received nominations for multiple book awards.
Today, he serves on the non-profit boards for African Children’s Schools and Shepherds of Wildlife Society™. He is the Founder of the Shepherds of Wildlife Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to reconnect modern society with Nature. Tom Opre, along with his wife Olivia, who is a travel specialist and wildlife advocate, resides in the picturesque Flathead Valley of Montana with their children.
